Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the LORD will do amazing things among you.
Does that verse give you butterflies? It does for me!! It helped me focus, and remember what God is doing in our lives, my life - amazing things. I have every reason to be excited and motivated to serve him and work hard today, tomorrow, and every day after that, no matter where I'm working. The main reason we're excited to get me set up from home is so that Hubs and I can have similar schedules (since I'll be able to choose my own) and then eventually when we have kids, I'll be able to work part-time and stay at home with them. Which is exactly what my mommy did for us and what Hubs' mommy did for him and his sister, too. I know that is a huge privilege to even be able to consider that model, and God is reminding me of that bigger picture in all of this - that He is doing great things, and we are here to give him all the glory for that.
Speaking of my mom, we got the chance to visit her in California this weekend when my sister (and now brother-in-law!) were wed. It was a beautiful wedding but very hot, especially having come from Salt Lake City's spring rains.
We always eat well when we visit my mom. This was one of our beautiful spring breakfast spreads: homemade vanilla french toast on awesome nutty bread, fresh sliced strawberries, all out on the patio table in the morning sunshine. Plus, wonderful company (Hubs and Mom.) Doesn't get much better than that. (And don't you love her pretty linens and plates?! They evoke that homey nostalgia feeling in me - I love them.)
We didn't use a recipe, but here is a good one from Better Homes and Gardens: Vanilla French Toast
and another one that looks amazing: French Vanilla French Toast. Enjoy!
